A while ago, WFMU posted this video on their blog, credited it to an unknown Austrian punk band, and claimed it was from around 1980 or '81. Since then, some others have credited it to someone named Al Bird Gore, some have called it a snuff film, and someone else says the original tape sold for 900 bucks on eBay! I just think the song is kinda catchy.

We started printing the Ninjasonik album cover book today. All the records from the show photographed in record settings and straight on. 12 down, at least 53 to go. That up there is Alex Heir's. If anyone is in New York and wants to help us put the book together, we'd love the help. If anyone wants to help with any of the show, we'd love that, too.

Last night I went to pick up J. Rattlesnake's Ninjasonik album cover and photograph it for the book we're putting together of all the covers. J played me the new Goddamn Rattlesnake album he recorded a little while ago with The Foxhunt and The Weight. It's great. Super excited for it.
The photo above is the photo of J's record for the album cover book. The book is photos of every record in a setting you might actually find them in.
J also showed me the inspiration for his record cover, a book of many, many metal logos by Christophe Szpajdel called "Lord of the Logos." The book is thousands of logos this guy has drawn.
The album cover book will be available soon for pre-order and will be available at the opening of the show on June 3rd.

Overstimulated was the senior thesis art show for Pace University curated by Joe Ahearn and Lia Wortendyke. It featured 80+ works by 60+ students and faculty, and had events planned for numerous nights. The entire exhibition was planned and set up in three days. And it took place in what used to be a Liz Claiborne retail store in the South Street Seaport.

From the desk of Ben Wolf:
Please join us this Friday night, 7 pm at Mccarren Hall, for the Feast of 'Little Ax' Broadnax.
The Feast will be a performance dinner for 50 guests. In honor of this evening's beacon, gospel singer Willmer "Little Ax" Broadnax, old school gender rebel and one of the "Kings of the gospel highway", all servers and performers will be in their freshest, most decked out dragtime attire.
Performances will take place as an integral part of your dinner experience. The feast will be prepared by master chef Laurel Bell.
This evening is being hosted by the Konbit Shelter project, a sustainable rebuilding project which aims to build structures for the earthquake affected community of Fondwa, Haiti this coming June.
Tickets are $30, all proceeds go toward building materials for Haiti.
Come celebrate with us.

We do our best to make sure our packages arrive in one piece, but sometimes they just don't make it. Here's to the T-Shirt that survived the trip in a package that clearly had something against making it to the other end.

"The Konbit Shelter Project is composed of a small group of artists and builders whose hearts, hands and minds are reaching out to the Haitian communities devastated by the earthquake."
Last week our friends built an installation in East River Park in Williamsburg to raise awareness for their current project to go to Haiti and build houses. The model house on the waterfront was decorated by Swoon and is on display for the month.

Evie Falci's work is a trip from Brooklyn to Baltimore and back. Paintings that blur the line between canvas and sculpture parallel lo-fi fractalized SFX and the infinite spaces of Yayoi Kusama. If you've been to Market Hotel and had to use the bathroom, or seen nearly any photo from there, you've seen a largely uncredited painting of Evie's. The hallucinatory room filled with eyeballs is hers. It's in Pterodactyl's video for "December," too.
At her new home and studio, Evie spent the first fifteen minutes of our interview shittalking, discussing skid row and prison, explaining why she used to dress like a bum and walk like a crackhead, explaining how to talk about weed smoking aliens to babysitted kids, and cursing. She then started to take out work to show and asked when we were going to start recording.
