Black Flag - White Minority

It's Monday morning and not only is Article's interview with Christopher Weingarten up in our new Free Press site, but we are releasing @1000TimesYes 2009, Chris's new book.

@1000TimesYes 2009 is a collection of Chris's Twitter album reviews from 2009. We're calling it a book, but it's actually a wooden card catalog that comes with all of the reviews on hand-typed index cards stuffed inside it. We like it a lot. Hope you do, too.

The laser engraved "front cover" of the collection.

Inside are the 1000 reviews on gold-sided index cards.

For more photos and to purchase one of these limited edition babies, check out the full page on the book:

The Misfits
For the past weeks Cerebral Ballzy and Article have been tirelessly cutting skateboard griptape... That's a lie... For the past months Cerebral Ballzy and Article have occasionally been capable of planning to meet up for a few hours and cut skateboard griptape, stencil in the bathroom and doodle on record sleeves. Next week we'll have for sale what we've been working on. For those of you that use the internet on the weekend, here it is, Cerebral Ballzy's You're Idle, on sale March 31st.

FORT TILDEN BEACH DURING THE STORM OF MARCH 13, 2010

Last year Ninjasonik got some vinyl made up for their track Somebody Gonna Get Pregnant. The record came with blank everything: blank jackets, blank sleeves, blank labels. Soon after DJ Teenwolf and I were talking and the idea of an art show using the records as canvases was born.

Now, many months later, the first records are coming back. A gallery show and a book are in the works, but for right now, here is a preview.

This is Cerebral Ballzy at Knife Fight's show a couple weeks back.

This is Fear on Saturday Night Live. John Belushi lobbied to get them on. To quote the infinite wisdom of Wikipedia:

The band's appearance included a group of moshers, among them Belushi, Ian MacKaye of Minor Threat (and later Fugazi), Harley Flanagan and John Joseph of The Cro-mags, and John Brannon of Negative Approach. The show's director originally wanted to prevent the dancers from participating, so Belushi offered to be in the episode if the dancers were allowed to stay. The end result was the shortening of Fear's appearance on TV. The band first performed "I Don't Care About You." They started their second performance by saying, "It's great to be in New Jersey," drawing boos from SNL's New York live audience. Accompanied by gory footage of blood-filled pumpkins being carved into Jack O'Lanterns, Fear then played "Beef Bologna," "New York's Alright If You Like Saxophones," and started to play "Let's Have a War" when the audio and video of the telecast faded into commercial. During the performance the slamdancers left ripe pumpkin remains on the set and stage speakers. Belushi also offered Fear the soundtrack for his major motion picture Neighbors. The movie studio eventually forced Fear off the project after Belushi's death. Shortly after the 1981 Halloween SNL appearance, which resulted in $20,000 in damages, some clubs chose not to hire the band.
